Lupinus Texensis, commonly known as the Texas bluebonnet, is a beautiful wildflower that is native to Texas. The plant is often grown as an ornamental plant as well as for its value in soil conservation due to its ability to fix nitrogen into the soil. Besides the common name, Texas bluebonnet, this wildflower is also known by several other synonyms such as buffalo clover, wolf flower, and bluebonnet lupine. The nickname "buffalo clover" is due to its use of the plant as a primary food source by buffalo and other grazing animals. "Wolf flower" is also a fitting name as the flower is quite hardy and resilient.
