Makhuwa-Meetto is the name given to one of the ethnic groups residing in Mozambique. Although the name is unique to this particular community, there are several synonyms that can be used to refer to them, including Makua-Metto, Makua-Meto, and Macua-Metto. These synonyms are mainly used interchangeably to describe the same ethnic group, which is estimated to have a population of over 1.5 million people. Like many other ethnic groups in Mozambique, Makhuwa-Meetto people have their own unique customs, language, and traditions that distinguish them from other communities in the country.
