McBurney's Point is an anatomical landmark on the abdomen, located approximately one-third of the distance from the anterior superior iliac spine to the umbilicus. It is often used as a reference point in the diagnosis of appendicitis, where tenderness at this point indicates inflammation of the appendix. While it is commonly known as McBurney's Point, there are other terms used to refer to this area. It is also called 'Point of Maximum Tenderness', 'MacBurney's Sign', and 'Right Iliac fossa point'. Despite the various synonyms, the importance of this anatomical landmark remains to aid in diagnosing appendicitis.
