Narcoanalysis refers to a technique used in psychology to extract information from a person's memory while they are under the influence of a hypnotic drug. Although narcoanalysis is a highly specialized and technical term, there are several other synonymous terms for it, often used interchangeably. Some alternatives include the truth serum, sodium amytal interview, or hypnotic interview, as well as the terms psychodynamic interview and interrogation under hypnosis, which refer to similar interrogation techniques that use psychological techniques to extract information from a subject. While each of these terms may have slightly different connotations, they all refer to the same basic technique for extracting information and memories from a person's subconscious.
