The Nun Study was a long-term research project conducted on Catholic nuns in the United States. However, there are several alternative terms to refer to this study. Some of the synonyms for the Nun Study are Sister's Health Study, Religious Sister's Study, and Catholic Sister Health Study. These terms were coined to describe this research project and its subjects, which focused on the health and cognitive abilities of nuns as they aged. The Nun Study and its synonyms have contributed immensely to scientific understanding of the aging process and dementia in particular. The study remains an excellent resource for researchers and health professionals interested in cognitive and neurological health.
