Oast House, also known as hop house or kiln, is a building designed for drying hops as a part of beer-making process. There are several other terms used for Oast House in different parts of the world. In the United States, it is called a hop kiln or drying house. In Germany, it is referred to as a Hopfendarre. In Czech Republic, it is known as a chmelnice and in Slovenia, they call it hmeljarna. These terms have variations but share the same purpose of drying hops. Regardless of their names, these structures played a crucial role in the beer-making industry.
