Pack riding is a term commonly used in cycling to describe a group of riders who ride closely together to reduce wind resistance and improve their speed. However, there are different synonyms for pack riding that are used in various contexts and disciplines. In horseback riding, it is called drafting, while in motorsports, it's called drafting or slipstreaming. The term pelotoning is also used in cycling, and platooning is used in trucking, for a group of vehicles that follow each other closely to improve fuel efficiency and decrease traffic congestion. Nonetheless, regardless of the discipline, pack riding or its synonym is an effective technique to improve performance and efficiency while minimizing resources.
