Pereskia Aculeata, commonly referred to as "Barbados Gooseberry," is a species of cactus native to tropical and subtropical regions in Central, South, and North America. Due to its unique appearance and wide usage in traditional medicine, the plant has several synonyms, including "Lemon Vine," "Lemon Cactus," and "Rose Cactus." In Brazil, it is also called "Ora-pro-nóbis," which translates to "Pray for Us" in English. The plant is often added to traditional dishes and herbal medicine to treat various ailments, including coughs, colds, and fever. Its leaves are edible and are a rich source of nutrition, containing high levels of iron, vitamin C, and protein.
