Phacochoerus is a genus of pig found in Africa commonly known as warthogs. However, there are a variety of other synonyms for this unique animal. In Afrikaans, they are called "vlakvark," while in Swahili, they go by "ngiri." In the Bantu language, they are known as "kondlo" or "twiti," and in the Zimbabwean Shona language, they are referred to as "gora." In addition, the scientific name for the two species of warthog is Phacochoerus africanus and Phacochoerus aethiopicus. Regardless of what they are called, these wild pigs are easily recognizable with their characteristic tusks and wart-like bumps on their faces.
