Pickelhaube, the spiked helmet worn by German soldiers during the 19th and early 20th centuries, has several synonyms that can be used interchangeably. For instance, it is also commonly referred to as the Pickelhelm, or simply the spiked helmet. Other synonyms for Pickelhaube include Stahlhelm, which translates to "steel helmet," and Kugelhelm, which means "ball-shaped helmet." Additionally, the French called the helmet a "casque à pointe," while the British referred to it as a "pickle barrel." Despite the various synonyms, the Pickelhaube remains an iconic symbol of German military history and is still recognizable today.
