Potl, also spelled as potluck, refers to a communal meal where people bring dishes to share. In different regions of the world, this term is known by different names such as 'covered-dish supper' or 'bring and share'. In the United Kingdom, it is popular as a 'buffet' while in Australia, it is commonly referred to as 'smorgasbord'. Potl can be used to describe any meal where the responsibility of cooking is collectively shared. Some other words that can be used in place of potl include 'feast', 'banquet', 'spread' and 'meal share'. Regardless of the name, potl remains an excellent way of bringing family and friends together to share a meal and create memories.
