When we talk about raw data, we are referring to unprocessed, unorganized, and unrefined information. As it is, raw data is difficult to comprehend and use, and that is why it needs to be transformed and analyzed. In data science, there are different other words used to mean raw data, such as primary data, source data, original data, and resident data. They all mean the same thing. The word source data indicates where the data comes from, while primary data implies that they are the first data that comes from experiments, surveys, and other means. Original data elaborate that there is no processing conducted before the data is collected, while the resident data signify that the information is located internally within the system.
