The Republic of Uganda is a landlocked country located in East Africa. It is a synonym for the African country and can be referred to as simply "Uganda". Additionally, it can be known as the "Pearl of Africa", a term coined by Winston Churchill due to the country's natural beauty and diverse wildlife. There are also various native names for the country, including "Buganda", which refers to the largest kingdom in Uganda and is the area where the country's capital city, Kampala, is located. Uganda is also sometimes referred to as the "Land of Lakes" due to its numerous bodies of water.
