The Sea of Azov, also known as Azov Sea, is a landlocked sea situated in eastern Europe. This body of water is characterized by its shallow and murky waters and home to diverse flora and fauna. In some languages, the Sea of Azov is referred to as Azovskoye More, or Azov Sea in English. Other synonyms for this sea include the Meotian Sea, Sivash, and the Sea of Tanais. Interestingly, the name "Azov" is believed to have originated from the ancient Turkish word "akh-shov," which means "blue water." The Sea of Azov is connected to the Black Sea via the Kerch Strait and plays a critical role in the region's economic and commercial activities.
