The term "shopwalker" which is primarily used in British English language, also goes by other synonymous terms based on their location and job roles. In the United States, the shopwalker is commonly referred to as a "sales associate", "sales representative" or simply as a "salesperson". In Australia and New Zealand, the job role is known as a "retail assistant" or "assistant manager" respectively. Another synonymous term used in the UK is "shop assistant" or "store assistant". Other terms used occasionally include "retail consultant" and "sales advisor". Regardless of the title, they all refer to a person who helps customers in a retail store by answering questions, offering advice and assistance.
