Stegosaur stenops, commonly known as the "plated lizard," is a species of stegosaurid dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic period. Synonyms for this species include "Stegosaurus stenops" and "Stegosaurus ungulatus," both of which are now considered invalid due to taxonomic changes. Other species of stegosaurids, such as "Kentrosaurus aethiopicus" and "Tuojiangosaurus multispinus," are often compared to stegosaur stenops due to their similar body armor and spiky tails. Despite its intimidating appearance, stegosaur stenops is believed to have been a herbivore, feeding on plants and foliage found in its ecosystem. Its unique anatomical features continue to fascinate paleontologists today.
