Tebet, also known as Tevet, is the tenth month of the Jewish calendar. Some synonyms for Tevet include the Hebrew word Asara B'Tevet, which refers to the fast day that commemorates the Babylonian siege of Jerusalem. Other related words include shevat, which is the following month, and Kislev, which marks the beginning of winter. The month of Tevet is traditionally associated with introspection and mourning, as well as the onset of cold weather. Despite its somber connotations, Tebet is also a time of hope and renewal, as the days begin to grow longer and the winter solstice passes.
