When talking about the venomous Australian snake known as the tiger snake, synonyms can be quite confusing due to the different regions this snake calls home. In Southeastern Australia, the tiger snake may also be called the "common tiger snake" or simply the "tiger." In Tasmania, the snake can take on a completely different name and be referred to as the "Tasmanian tiger snake" or the "Tasmanian brown snake."
