Ankylosaur, meaning "fused lizard", is a type of prehistoric quadrupedal dinosaur known for its heavily armored body and club-like tail. There are several synonyms for ankylosaur, including Ankylosaurus, Euoplocephalus, Talarurus, and Pinacosaurus, each with their unique features and evolutionary adaptations. Ankylosaurids, a family of ankylosaurs, are believed to have lived during the Late Cretaceous period, around 66 million years ago, mainly in what is now North America and Asia.
