The Bay of Bengal, located in the northeastern region of the Indian Ocean, is also called the Bay of Bengala or simply The Bengal Sea. It is surrounded by several countries, including India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, and Thailand. In addition, it is connected to the Andaman Sea through the Andaman and Nicobar Islands located in the southern part of the bay. The Bay is also known as the "Bay of Pirates" due to the numerous pirate activities that took place in the area historically. However, it still remains a beautiful and vital ecosystem, being home to a variety of marine life and being used for several industries, including fishing, trade, and tourism.
