The Eastern Fence Lizard, also known as the Blue Fence Lizard, is a common reptile species found in the eastern region of North America. This lizard is a member of the genus Sceloporus, which includes other related species such as the Spiny Lizard and the Texas Horned Lizard. Although commonly referred to as the Eastern Fence Lizard, it is also known by other names such as the Pine Barrens Fence Lizard, Prairie Lizard, Fence Swift, Maryland Lizard, and Rock Swift. Despite these different names, they are all referring to the same species of lizard that is often recognized by its distinctive blue belly and black and white stripes running down its back.
