The Eastern fox squirrel is a popular squirrel species found in the eastern parts of North America. Other synonyms for the Eastern fox squirrel include the common fox squirrel, the Southeastern fox squirrel, and the Great Plains fox squirrel. These species of squirrels have a unique grayish-brown color with a white underbelly and tail. They are larger than most other squirrel species, with a body length of 45cm and a bushy tail that can grow up to an additional 35cm in length. The Eastern fox squirrel primarily feeds on nuts, seeds, and fruits and can climb trees with excellent agility to reach its desired food source.
