The Family Taxaceae comprises of various evergreen trees and shrubs. It is a small family of conifers that consists of five genera and around 30 species. The most popular species in this family is Taxus, which has a great significance in the medicinal industry. People commonly refer to Taxaceae as yew family. Besides yew, other genera in the family include, Cephalotaxus, Austrotaxus, Torreya, and Pseudotaxus.
