Feeling terrible is a common expression used to describe a state of discomfort, pain, sadness, or anxiety. But there are many other ways to express this feeling, such as feeling awful, dreadful, miserable, wretched, or downright lousy. Similarly, when we feel physically ill we might say we feel nauseous, sick, queasy, or unwell. Whereas when we're emotionally troubled we might say we feel sad, upset, depressed, or heartbroken. Ultimately, there are countless words and phrases to describe the many shades of feeling terrible, and whatever words we use, it's important to acknowledge and express our feelings in a healthy and productive way.
