Macroglobulinaemia is a medical term that refers to a rare type of cancer that affects a type of white blood cell known as plasma cells. It is also commonly referred to as Waldenstrom macroglobulinaemia, lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma or WM disease. The condition is characterized by the excessive production of large proteins called monoclonal immunoglobulins, which can lead to a variety of symptoms including fatigue, weakness, anemia, and bleeding disorders. Some alternative terms that can be used to describe this condition include lymphoproliferative disorder, B-cell disorder, and monoclonal gammopathy. Despite these different terms, all of them refer to the same type of cancer that requires prompt medical attention and treatment.
