Modified American Plan (MAP) is a term commonly used in the hospitality industry to refer to a type of hotel package where guests pay for their room rate and two meals a day, usually breakfast and dinner. However, there are various synonyms of this term, such as Deluxe American Plan (DAP), Continental Plan (CP), European Plan (EP), American Plan (AP), and Full American Plan (FAP). Deluxe American Plan is an elevated version of MAP where guests receive three meals instead of two, which includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Continental Plan includes only a continental breakfast usually consisting of tea, coffee, juice, pastries, and fruits. European Plan is where guests pay for their room rate only, and food and beverages are billed separately. Whereas, American Plan is where guests pay for all meals and lodging. Full American Plan is the most comprehensive of them all wherein guests receive three full-course meals in a day along with lodging.
