Pie-dog is a term used to describe a stray or mixed-breed dog in South Asia. In India, these dogs are commonly known as Pariah dogs. They are also referred to as street dogs, mongrels, alley dogs, or feral dogs. These dogs are often seen wandering on the streets, suburbs, and villages in search of food and shelter. Pie-dogs are usually friendly and independent, making them excellent companions. Despite being called stray dogs, they can be domesticated, and some people even adopt them as pets. While pie-dog may be the most commonly used term, these other synonyms can be used interchangeably to refer to these dogs.
