Collective agreement refers to an agreement that is signed between the employer and employee union in regards to the working conditions, salary, and other relevant labour law issues. In some regions, it is referred to as a union contract, a collective bargaining agreement, or a labour agreement. The terms of the collective agreement apply to all employees in the bargaining unit, rather than to individual employees. In some cases, the term Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is used to refer to a collective agreement that outlines principles and goals for negotiations to be finalized into a union contract. In short, different regions and industries may use different terms but they all refer to the same kind of agreement.
