Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) is a rare type of cancer that affects the immune system. Synonyms for CTCL include cutaneous lymphoma, skin lymphoma and mycosis fungoides. Cutaneous lymphoma refers to any type of lymphoma that affects the skin. Skin lymphoma specifically relates to lymphoma that involves the skin tissue. Mycosis fungoides is the most common type of CTCL and is characterized by an eczema-like rash and possible tumors. There are other types of CTCL, including Sezary syndrome, primary cutaneous CD30+ T-cell lymphoproliferative disorders and subcutaneous panniculitis-like T-cell lymphoma.
