This debilitating syndrome can cause inflammation of the facial nerve, leading to facial paralysis, loss of taste, and ear pain. There are many synonyms for Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, including facial paralysis, Bell's palsy, shingles, herpes oticus, and herpes zoster.
