A squeeze play is a baseball tactic where a baserunner at third base simultaneously tries to score and force a throw to first base, allowing a baserunner at second base to advance to third base or score. Synonyms for squeeze play include bunt-and-run, suicide squeeze, safety squeeze, and squeeze bunt. A bunt-and-run involves the batter bunting the ball and the baserunner at third base immediately dashing home to score. A suicide squeeze is similar, except the baserunner leaves third base later than in a bunt-and-run.
