Tragelaphus eurycerus, commonly referred to as the bushbuck, is a medium-sized antelope found across sub-Saharan Africa. There are several synonyms used to describe this species of antelope which include Tragelaphus scriptus eurycerus, Tragelaphus buxtoni, and Portax euryceros. These synonyms are used interchangeably to describe the bushbuck, which is known for its shaggy, reddish-brown fur, prominent white spots on its body, and a distinctive crest of hair along its back. The bushbuck is a common sight in many African national parks and game reserves, and it is preyed upon by large predators such as leopards and lions. Despite facing threats from hunting and habitat loss, bushbuck populations remain stable in many areas.
