Tragelaphus Buxtoni, also known as the mountain bongo, is an endangered species of antelope found in the forests of Kenya. There are a few synonyms for this antelope species including eastern bongo, Kenyan bongo, and African forest bongo. The distinction between the various bongo species is primarily their geographic location and to some extent, their physical characteristics. Unlike their western cousins, the eastern bongo has brighter colors and a higher number of stripes along the body for better camouflage in their forest environment. With only a few hundred of these elusive animals left in the wild, it's vital to protect them and raise awareness about their plight.
