It is a slow-growing plant that is native to the southeastern United States, including Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. This plant is widely used as an ornamental plant due to its attractive foliage. Some of the synonyms for the Zamia pumila include Zamia floridana, Zamia integrifolia, Zamia tenuis, and Zamia silvicola.
