There are several synonyms for the term hemophilia, including "bleeder's disease," "von Willebrand disease," and "factor VIII deficiency." Additionally, hemophilia is classified into two types: hemophilia A, which is caused by a deficiency of clotting factor VIII, and hemophilia B, which is caused by a deficiency of clotting factor IX.
