Breakbone fever, also known as dengue fever, is a viral disease that commonly spreads through the bite of infected Aedes mosquitoes. Apart from the name, breakbone fever is also known as bone-crushing fever or dandy fever. The symptoms of dengue fever include a high fever, severe headache, joint and muscle pain, skin rashes, and nausea. In rare cases, it may progress to a severe form known as dengue hemorrhagic fever, which can cause internal bleeding and shock. Dengue fever is prevalent in tropical and subtropical regions, and there is no specific treatment available. To prevent breakbone fever, it's crucial to practice mosquito control measures such as wearing protective clothing and using mosquito repellent.
